Unfortunately, I am unable to drive today--I pinched a nerve in my neck an am immobile--so we will not be meeting in person tonight. Worst news ever, I know. But let's all keep calm and try to get through this together.

We still have an assignment tonight. Please watch the following TED talk and write a response on your blog. TED Talk Video Link

The video is about 18 minutes long, so be sure to give yourself enough time to watch it tonight. You'll need to respond to the following questions in a blog post by midnight tonight (4/9). You do not have to write this in paragraph form, but please answer each question as thoroughly as possible:

• What is the broad topic being discussed?
• What is(are) the narrower topic(s)?
• What problems/issues are identified that pertain to the topic?
• What would you say is implied thesis, or what is the speaker arguing?
• Who is the speaker (not her name, but her role/title) and what's her stake in this argument?
• Who is the intended audience (who is she trying to convince)?
• What are her broad subtopics used to support the thesis?
• Identify examples of where the speaker uses ethos, pathos, and logos.

Make sure to have this posted by midnight. Just so we're clear: the response needs to be written/posted on your blog.

I will be setting up a discussion for the in-class workshop for next week. Your homework is to submit the second draft of your research paper to the discussion board before the beginning of class on Wednesday, April 16th.

As of now, the extra credit I had planned for tomorrow is on hold. If I am able to drive tomorrow, I will send out an email to let you know the details of the opportunity. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
