·      Homework: “Growing up with Mom and Mom” (p. 128), “The Art of College Management: Cheating” (p. 27), and “The Man Behind Abercrombie & Fitch” (p. 364). Reading Response #1.

Wednesday, January 22nd
·      In-class: Turn in Reading Response #1, discuss essays, cover rhetorical elements, writing prompts.
·      Homework: Read “1776: A Musical about the Declaration of Independence” (p.413) and “The Murder of Abraham Lincoln” (p.486). Reading Response #2.

Wednesday, January 29th
·      In-class: Turn in Reading Response #2, discuss essays, small group work/writing prompts.
·      Homework: Read “The States, Their Nicknames and Mottoes…” (p. 432) and “Coming Home” (p. 89).

·      Summary/Response Paper Due
·      In-class: Begin personal narrative unit, craft elements, writing about family.
